About That Writing Group Idea...

Don't worry. I'm still working on it. I'm way too busy to make anything concrete happen until June or so, but here are some ideas I'm kicking around...

The idea behind the group is to focus on writing or thinking about writing every day. I was thinking about having some kind of content every day, probably as quotes about writing/prompts or good articles. Or would that be too obnoxious?

As for actual things... I want to have a read-and-critique workshop in a chat room every week or so, following these rules (kentbrewster.com/code-review-u…).

I'd like to focus on techniques from different books about writing. (One of the things I want to emphasize is that there's no one right way to do writing, but if you aren't getting anything done, your current method isn't working.) Not sure how to do this. Maybe videos where I talk about what I drew from these books. Suggestions for good writing books welcome.

Also, discussion of stuff that demonstrates good storytelling. Probably short books or TV episodes easily available on the net. Something we can condense into one point.
