There were the superficial things: he had a lovely, deep voice that made her skin tingle; when she held onto his arms, she felt obvious, strong muscles; he could burp almost as loud as her. And then there was the important stuff. He was the only one who never told her to try and make peace with the anger she still felt at her parents; he just sat still and listened when she talked about them without a drop of judgment. Usually, if he was taking her somewhere new, Sokka talked her ear off about their destination: the way the market smelled at midday; how hot or cold it got, and what the sunlight felt like on your face; the way people talked to each other.

Here are Damon and Cathal, my characters for

. They are picked separately and are probably going to get dumped into separate parts of the Book, because I like torturing myself.

Cathal is an astrophysicist with a bad temper and a wicked sense of humor. Damon is a chef and a widower, and his favorite hobby is making Cathal eat weird things. They maybe-kinda-sorta have a thing, but for one reason or another, it just hasn't worked out.

(I've never played Half-life, so it's not intentional. But Damon *is* the strong silent type.)

When I drew them, I was stupid and didn't leave enough room for their feet. So I drew their shoes elsewhere. Only Cathal's got scanned, though.
