10. Breathe Again

Sokka was getting used to his sister bursting into tears at completely random times. "You can't say that he's dead, Sokka, you just can't!" She pressed her hands over her eyes. "What if you say that, and he really doesn't wake up? It's bad luck!"

Sokka put an arm around her shoulders, glad she couldn't see him roll his eyes. Her and her superstitions. "Aang'll be fine," he said in his best soothing voice. "You know that kid. He can't stand being apart from you for more than thirty seconds. Besides, he doesn't get to die until he meets Dad, remember?" Katara just shook her head, and Sokka sighed and pulled her into a proper hug, letting her cry herself out.

Whoo! 1/10th of the way there!

...I honestly can't believe this is my first fanart of Katara and Sokka. I just get way too attached to the minor characters in *anything.*

Anyway, this would be post-season 2 but pre-season 3, sometime after that little comic that shows how the GAang ended up on a Fire Nation ship. I always felt bad that Sokka was like, "Whoo! They think Aang's dead!" and didn't care about Katara's D: face. So they're making up.

Art-wise, I... don't hate it. I should have used a reference, though. And goddamn is Sokka hard to draw. The FN uniform was fun, though. The thing behind them is supposed to be a wall hanging (they are in the room Aang is being kept in), but unfortunately the characters are standing in front of it so you can't actually tell. Oh, well.
