Animal

>< Once again, lineart that I colored with my crappy Photoshop 2.0. I semi-like it, though, so I didn't consign it to the oekaki category. I say "semi" because it took so much work and it looks so... eh. Mostly, it took a lot of work because my craptop kept crashing on me mid-C+P. And because it pixelized so badly. I wish I could have colored it normally, but for some reason when I erased the pencil lines, I got these horrible smudge marks all over. My new sketchbook sucks.

Anyway...

This is Brand from the webcomic Shades of Grey ([link]), and in the background is his alter ego, Id. Id is basically all the bad, demon-y stuff that Brand tries to repress. It tends to not work, of course. The bloodstains and the green spots are Brand's demon traits (I think it's funnier when they're demon acne, XD). On Brand, I made them look like bloodstains because he feels incredibly guilty about having a demon side (to say he has issues is like calling Mt. Everest "big"), and on Id, I made them look more like tattoos, because Id probably thinks they make him look dashing or something (and because Id can actually control the way he looks, but that's a long story).

I know the words in the background are rather slapdash... I considered making them look like they were actually in the background, but judged it too much work. They're lyrics to the song "Animal I Have Become" by Three Days Grace.
